Working With The Ebb And Flow Of Focus
After an intense workday, I wondered whether I should push just as hard the next day or take a break. That question led me to rethink what consistency means.
Some days I can give a project deep focus. Other days, smaller tasks are a better fit. I can keep moving without treating every day like a sprint.
Plan Heavy And Light Days
I began experimenting with deep work days for demanding projects and lighter days for planning, research, and routine tasks. I also kept a day for rest.
On a light day, I might collect ideas, update an older article, answer a reader, or plan the next piece of content. These tasks still move the work forward.
Keep A Light-Day List
Write down useful tasks that do not demand your highest level of focus. When energy dips, choose one from the list instead of deciding from scratch.
Make Room To Recover
Consistency is easier to sustain when the plan allows for different kinds of days. Work with your energy, review what gets done, and adjust the rhythm to fit your life.
